Opera - 2014 Season
From august 4 to August 12
Richard Wagner’s music returns to fill the Teatro Colón’s hall under the masterful baton of Daniel Barenboim and his artistic legion from the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. We will be offered with Tristan und Isolde’s very own heart—the magnificent second act, when lovers meet at night and declare their impossible love for each other, becoming more real by the strength of one of the most powerful scores ever written.
Ballet - 2014 season
From july 26 to july 31
The ballets by the Russian choreographer Boris Eifman have been presented in the best theaters around the world. Now it is time for the Teatro Colón to premiere one of his biographical pieces—Rodin, the French sculptor’s life from the standpoint of his apprentice and muse, Camille Claudel. While confined in a mental institution, Camille will guide this story through her memories, narrated in a contemporary language, permeated with theatrical and psychological effects.

Colón contemporáneo - 2014 season

Canons XV to XVII, Contrapunctus I to VI, XI and XVIII (unfinished) by J. S. Bach. Moments Musicaux, Secreta, Aus der Ferne V, Officium Breve and Ligatura by György Kurtág.
The Keller Quartet was founded in Hungary in 1987. Since then, it has been characterized by mastering a wide repertoire, which intensively explores the juxtaposition between the classical and the contemporary. This concert will introduce the quartet’s original programme Bach/Kurtag, in which The Art of Fugue combines with a set of scores by the Hungarian composer.

The most expected comeback of our 2014 season—Martha Argerich will play once again in the Teatro Colón. The energy of this keyboard-wizard and the vitality of the young musicians from the Divan Orchestra will shine under the conduction of Daniel Barenboim. This will only constitute the starting point of a series of performances by these great artists in our main hall.
