Born in New York in 1926, Morton Feldman is one of the most remarkable American composers of the 20th century. He is known for some of his singular instrumental pieces, formed by long isolated sounds and made for unusual groups of instruments. He was part of the so called New York School, next to John Cage, Earle Brown and Christian Wolff, who –since the fifties and sixties- have changed forever the way of thinking and listening to music.
