OPERA IN FOUR ACTS (1847)
COMPOSED BY GIUSEPPE VERDI
LIBRETTO BY FRANCESCO MARIA PIAVE,
WITH COLLABORATION OF ANDREA MAFFEI,
BASED ON MACBETH BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
The pair Verdi-Shakespeare is a fascinating flash point. In this opportunity it is demonstrated by Macbeth, a youthful creation reformulated by the composer in his maturity, which leaves the audience breathless. Marcelo Lombardero’s mise-en-scène promises to go deeper and refresh one more time this inveterate tragedy. The podium will be occupied by Stefano Ranzani, who directed La Bohème that reopened the theater in 2010.
