Antidiaspora: United States

June 16th, 17th & 18th

SECOND DELIVERY OF THE CYCLE OF CONCERTS DEDICATED
TO THE DIASPORA OF ARGENTINIAN COMPOSERS

The CETC requests some plays to a group of Argentinian composers that reside in the United States (Pablo Ortiz, Marcelo Toledo, Juan Pampin, Federico Llach, Tomas Gueglio, Fernando Benadon, Guillermo Klein and Sebastian Zubieta) for the Argentinian ensembles Tropi, Nuntempe, Cuarteto Untref and Musica Inaudita, and various soloists. If we consider that the Argentinian cultural tradition, following Borges’ formula in “El escritor argentino y la tradición”, reclaims with particular strength the belonging of the Argentinian culture to the dialogue between local and global, knowing the music and some aesthetic ideas of the Argentinian composers abroad becomes particularly attractive.
